Today is the Top 8, and it's already underway. Billy and Miguel are covering the quarterfinals for VsSystem.com. I'll have one match of the Semis here, and then I'll see what I can do for the final match. Assuming it doesn't run up against the time I have to leave for my flight, I'll at least have the winner posted via the Twitter feed.
There's also a Super-Crossover Sealed today, where each player gets 1 pack each of DOR, DCL, MVL, MUN, and MTU. Ben Seck will again be gunslinging for this event.
I just finished typing up the other four decklists from the Day 1 Top 8 for the guys who didn't make the final Top 8. I'll also see if I can get the lists from yesterday's Silver Age Win-a-PS3 event. Links will be below.
Update: They replaced DOR with MTU, for the Super Crossover Sealed. Unfortunately, the Silver Age decklists have already been discarded. Sorry guys.
Update 2: Still no decklists, but my information says that the Top 2 decks of the Silver Age tournament were both Moloids.
Earlier Coverage:
Today is a new day. Constructed is over and now drafting skills have to shine. Several questions present themselves: Can Kurt "coolkurt" Hindman avoid the X-0 curse? Can a field with so many unknowns win out over the likes of proven, strong drafters at the top two draft tables such as Jason Hager, Niles Rowland, Dan Clark, and Anthony Calabrese? Only time will tell.
Stay tuned for more throughout the day! I'll be doing Twitter updates, some draft coverage, maybe a match or two, and plenty of pictures. The VsSystem.com guys promise plenty of extra "flava", Miguel "CarlosTheDwarf" Rodriguez will be working his butt off on match coverage, TBS promises to do some deck profiles, and Billy Z. will have something going on over there too.
By the way, I have it on good authority that the events at GenCon: Indy WILL be a MegaWeekend format. So consider this your unofficial "official" announcement.
Today is Day 1 of the first Vs. World Championships. I'm here at Origins now as everyone is scrambling to register themselves and their decks. It's a bit surreal... not quite the Vs. that I was used to.
122 people here today. Still waiting on TBZ to the VsSystem.com link up so that I can link. More Twitter, pictures, and Feature Matches coming soon.
Please, do me a favor, write your VSRealms name on your badge. If you've got friends at the Con who aren't (or can't) follow the site, call them up and tell them I said so!
